Robinsons Brewery Scoops Design Award

Robinsons Brewery’s first managed house, The Airport Pub has scooped the award for ‘Best Pub Design’ at the 2015 Restaurant and Bar Design Awards which took place at London’s iconic Old Truman Brewery.

The awards, now in their seventh year, are the only awards in the world dedicated to the design of food and beverage spaces. With over 3,800 entries from the UK and 70 other countries in the past 6 years, the awards attract the world’s top designers, hospitality operators and judges.

The judging panel, comprised of some of the most influential personalities in the industry, were wowed by the innovative and ground breaking design that has been heralded as ‘the most unique refurbishment in Robinsons history.’

With spitfire arm chairs, jet engine booth seating, vintage propeller fittings, quirky retro 3D art installations – including flying ducks dressed in mini pilot outfits - and blueprints of vintage aeroplanes, The Airport is a visual avalanche of aeronautical exuberance and can now add this internationally recognised design award to its trophy cabinet.

Neil Robinson-Stanier, Director for Robinsons Brewery, said: “This award is the culmination of the hard work that was put into assembling an in-house team of creative people who understood and shared the vision for our pub estate and in doing so are delivering pubs that inspire and lead the way in our industry. The Airport is a wonderful pub and is representative of what can be achieved through sheer passion for design by a very dedicated team here at Robinsons.  Duncan, our Senior Designer, led this project from the onset and has produced work that is creative and visionary, and we are delighted that this has been recognised by the judges. To get the accolade of having the best Pub Design in the country makes us all very proud.”
